As a P&P Manager, you manage a team of two buyers. They carry out the day-to-day operational work within the purchase department. You act as first-point-of-contact & coach for your team. Together you make sure that all goods, used in our production, are available on time at the right costs & quality. In order to achieve this goal, you develop & manage the right sourcing strategies from beginning to end. When proactivity fails and material shortages occur, your job is to put all hands on deck and find solutions. You facilitate communication between our suppliers & subcontractors to maintain & further develop this network. Your direct report is our Supply Chain Manager.
1.Purchase & Procurement:
-You manage the day to day purchasing (buying of goods required in production)
-You develop and manage sourcing tactics and strategies from beginning to end (including make-or-buy decisions)
-You coordinate the purchasing team as a true-born people manager
-You manage our MRP-system (MOQ, re-order point, lead times, MTPT, Safety stock, …) and you make recommendations for further improvements and optimizations
2.Change/ Improvement Flows:
-Based on in-depth data-analysis you set up improvement processes in relation to;
ospending pattern & inventory control
oprocurement activities, policies & procedures in the framework of continuous product improvement process & new product introduction process
othe high-level production planning, storage & transportation of goods
othe daily risks on short/long term (reduce breakdowns)
-You facilitate the change processes by acting as a real change manager (you know how to listen, you are patient and you know how to convince people).
3.Suppliers & subcontractors;
-You Interview, identify and qualify potential new vendors or suppliers in order to secure more cost-effective sources of products and services.
-You act as reference contact person for existing suppliers & subcontractors. You are responsible for;
oNegotiating pricing, terms and conditions of sales, warranties of goods and products (including tenders)
oMonitoring their performance to ensure quality and service
-You are a motivated People Manager with a clear vision (A technical background is a big plus!)
-You have a proven track record (of at least 5 years) in a purchase/procurement department, preferably in a production environment.
-You are looking for a working environment that is in transition; with the possibility to steer & guide this change within the purchase department.
-MRP-systems, MS Office, & Excel (Pivot tables) have no secrets from you
-You like speed, but quality always comes first
-Your style can be described as no nonsense to the point
-You know your priorities and you are Pro-active, Agile & Stress resistant
-You are Fluent in English, Dutch and French (German: Nice to have)
